Once Procserver is installed (see section Procserver installation) and there are the necessary problemtypes also installed (see section Installing problemtypes), it is necessary to make it active before beggining beginning a remote analysis. Several options are possible:
- Execute the program Procserver and leave it running. Note that is does not have any graphical user interface.
- On UNIX, convert it into a UNIX daemon. See section UNIX daemon for details.On any Windows, put the program Procserver in the Init folder. Windows, the installer set the program procserverd.exe to be started/stopped as a Windows service.
- On Linux the installer set the program procserverd to be started/stopped as a UNIX daemon.

Note: In MS Windows, it's added a visible icon to the task bar. From this icon can open the configuration panel or shutdown the procserver.
Note: If there is an error when opening the socket in the first Procserver execution, check option -port in section Command line optionsautomatically run.
