Once Procserver is installed (see section Procserver installation) and there are the necessary problemtypes also installed (see section Installing problemtypes), it is necessary to make it active before beggining a remote analysis. Several options are possible:

  • Execute the program Procserver and leave it running. Note that is does not have any graphical user interface.
  • On UNIX, convert it into a UNIX daemon. See section UNIX daemon for details.
  • On any Windows, put the program Procserver in the Init folder. Then, every time the computer is open and the user enters, the program is executed. To perform it automatically check: section Windows automatic init.

Note: In MS Windows, it's added a visible icon to the task bar. From this icon can open the configuration panel or shutdown the procserver.
Note: If there is an error when opening the socket in the first Procserver execution, check option -port in section Command line options.
