GiD - The personal pre and post processor

Save as...

Menu: Files->Save as...

Preprocessing:

With this command, GiD allows you to save all the current project with another name.
When it is selected, an auxiliary window appears with all the existing projects and directories to facilitate the introduction of the project's new name and directory.

At the bottom of this window there are some extra options:

  • Include results: If the model has been calculated and has postprocess results, this option also save a copy of these files, but be careful, sometimes are huge files.
  • Old GiD project: Save using a very old GiD format, neglecting some last features. It could be interesting only to provide a model to a person with a old GiD version, if it is unable to read the current format.
  • ASCII: This option saves a project in the same way as regular Save (see Save (Only Preprocessing)) but files are written in ASCII. It may be useful for a small manual modification with a regular text editor, like change the problemtype name associated.

Projects saved in this way may be read with the same open command (see Open).

Postprocessing:

To save postprocess mesh and results in HDF5 GiD postprocess format. Is possible to set single or double precision for real numbers (single is recommended because internally in post are stored in memory with this precision)
